Inside information? If you work somewhere and have seen something the public should know, read our whistleblowers page first. It explains how to reach us safely and what your rights are.
Send us a lead
You may know something we don't: a document, a lead, a rule that makes no sense in practice. Send it in. You are only ever credited by initials, and only if you say yes. Your contact details are never published.
We're looking for:
- People who read the small print: council minutes, procurement notices, FOI responses, statutory instruments.
- People with professional knowledge: housing, law, finance, planning, health, local government.
- Anyone who has noticed a number that doesn't add up, or two rules that clash.
What to include: your initials or a pen name (used for credit), the claim in one sentence, links to your sources, what's documented and what's your own reading, and whether we may publish it.

House rules
- Criticise policy, not groups of people. We examine decisions, laws and spending. We don't publish generalisations about any group.
- Bring sources. Link the document, page or dataset. Primary sources come first.
- Separate fact from opinion. Tell us what is documented and what is your reading of it.
- Permission. We only publish with your explicit permission, and we may edit for length and clarity.
- Initials only. Credit is by initials or a pen name. We never publish your contact details.
Every lead is checked against its sources and labelled VERIFIED, OUR READING or PREDICTION before it goes anywhere near the site.
Tell us what you think
We want to hear what you think: about a prediction, a law card, or a policy we should be looking at.
- Some responses may be published, edited for length, with your first name or initials only, and only with your permission.
- Constructive, non-abusive responses are welcome, including ones that disagree with us. Challenges backed by evidence are especially welcome.
- Offensive or malicious correspondence will be reported.
